To avoid risks
It is strongly recommended that you submit only a photocopy of your identification document and indicate its intended use.
For your bank passbook, provide only a photocopy of the cover, likewise indicating its intended use.
As for what risks are involved, please Google it yourself; enter “identity card photocopy” as the keyword.
