The boss is a second-generation heir and a spoiled old princess with serious emotional-management issues. She constantly threatens you with your salary, saying that poor performance will result in pay deductions. She intentionally drags her feet on airfare for Taiwan-based employees returning to Taiwan, clearly not wanting to pay. In one case, after an employee paid for their own ticket back to Taiwan, she told them they did not need to return, then delayed paying their wages for several months. Other companies pay on the fifth of the month, but she claimed that employees who were paid on the fifth would leave, so she only pays on the 30th. She thinks highly of herself because she studied abroad, and frequently insults employees as ignorant country bumpkins. “Your brain must be waterlogged” is one of her catchphrases. Salary deductions for Taiwan-based employees are routine. There are no contracts and no insurance. Local employees in mainland China have it even worse: the person responsible for general affairs earns only 5,000 yuan a month and is also expected to pay upfront for company purchases; the amount once reached 15,000 yuan.
