There is an IT manager under him who really likes to curry favor with him. You work overtime every day, and sometimes they ask you to work on holidays, but I’ve never heard of any overtime pay.
Can earn a lot of overtime pay???
The warehouse management position in Kaohsiung starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m. You often have to work overtime until 8:30 p.m., or as late as 9:30 p.m. Inventory counts can run even later. You have to enter your overtime hours into a computer yourself, using your own break time to record the overtime. When you finish at 6 p.m., the company requires you to clock overtime starting at 6:30 p.m., effectively making you lose half an hour. During the interview, they tell you that your salary will be adjusted after a three-month probationary period, but in reality, there is no adjustment at all. The pay is 22,500, including perfect-attendance pay. You have to use a lift and climb up high while carrying heavy items (the heaviest are approximately 20–30 kg). The warehouse is dirty and cluttered, with many small insects. Working overtime every evening means feeding the mosquitoes. The sheet-metal warehouse can reach temperatures of 36–37°C in summer. If you really like earning overtime pay, come on over. I personally earned so much that I couldn't take it anymore and am preparing to change jobs.
Be careful not to break the law, because over-the-phone marketing cannot be used to sell non-prescription medicines. If this is reported and it happens to be something you sold, you may be at risk of violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act. Be careful.
1. The incense smoke is so strong every day that it can make you dizzy. On the first and fifteenth days of each lunar month, everyone has to worship, supposedly the Earth God—but it is not actually clear what is being worshipped. On top of that, large amounts of joss paper have to be burned on the rooftop. 2. Every day, you have to write a daily work report detailing the time—what you did at what hour and minute. On average, writing the daily report takes about an hour each day, so it is best to open the report as soon as you start work and write it while working, especially if you want to leave on time. 3. In addition to the daily report, there is also a weekly planning sheet, and every month there is a monthly meeting report. You had better remember to submit them; otherwise, the boss may, depending on their mood, ask the management and assessment department to check who has not submitted theirs. Those who fail to submit them will receive a warning, with NT$500 deducted for each occurrence. (Should the Ministry of Labor look into this?)
4. Plans cannot keep up with changes, and changes cannot keep up with the emotional reactions of certain people. Once you join, you will understand.
5. They really like to blame all mistakes on former employees who have resigned. Senior managers even criticize, scold, and complain about former employees to business clients.
6. Seats are changed every so often. Perhaps they hear some spiritual medium say who should sit where, and then the seats are rearranged again. In any case, after you join, you will hear more senior employees tell you stories about the spiritual medium. (Isn't it mysterious? Or will you find it rather eerie? You will have to experience it yourself.)
7. For information security reasons, every external email address must be requested through an application. So when filling out the application form, apply for several at once—they will open them all for you anyway. Otherwise, you will not be able to send emails externally.
8. All files are locked. Internal emails do not require an application for decryption, but files sent externally do; only after you apply for decryption will your files be unlocked. Otherwise, if you send them externally, the recipient will not be able to view the file contents. They say this is information security modeled on listed companies, but how many companies actually operate this way? Judge for yourself.
9. Certain senior executives will often ask you: “Have you ever worked at a large company?” (You can just ignore them.)
