Simply put—don’t waste your time interviewing!
I applied for a brand marketing position and was asked to bring a portfolio to the interview. However, the middle-aged man who claimed to be the marketing manager did not even look at it during the interview. He only asked a bunch of pointless questions, and the interview ended in less than ten minutes. He left me with the comment that they would notify me if there was a second interview, and that if there wasn’t, then there wouldn’t be any further contact.
A week later, I received notice of a second interview. Since I wanted to know the salary range, I agreed to go. Unexpectedly, when I arrived at the company, they only asked me to fill out an employment information form, then offered a salary that was utterly shocking (the salary listed on 104 should only be taken as a rough reference). The HR representative then said that the female marketing manager from the first interview had said it was OK and that there was no need for another interview (??? The person who interviewed me last time was clearly a man, and he also said he was the marketing manager). They wanted me to start working without even clearly explaining the job responsibilities? The internal organization felt completely chaotic. It was an absolute waste of time, so I directly declined the job after the interview.
