Basically, my advice to this company is to shut down—for Taiwan’s sake.

Here are five words of advice for those who come after: “Push, stick it in, dig, dodge, hug”; following them will let you get through smoothly.

The factory buildings are old, dilapidated, and poorly designed; most of the equipment is nearly obsolete. Problems with new machines keep cropping up. The senior management is all made up of insiders, and their experience is laughable. Below senior management, turnover is astonishingly high. Whenever something goes wrong, it is someone else’s fault; whenever there is credit to claim, it goes to the insiders. Operations are declining, yet those at the top continue to rise rapidly... Saying more would only be a waste of breath... All I can say is that they pass the government audits year after year, which speaks for itself....
