After you turn down your other job offers and decide to join this company,

about a week before you are due to start, they call you and say they have found someone more suitable and you don't need to come in after all!

I had heard people in the industry talk about this kind of “riding a donkey while looking for a horse” mentality before,

but I never expected to actually experience it.

It was truly such a waste of someone else's time!
