康倪國際企業股份有限公司
Pros

If you want to train your stress tolerance and communication skills, you can give it a try.

Cons

A company that violates labor laws and still acts self-righteous about it.

You only get six days off per month, and if you don't meet your targets, you can only take four days off.

There are many restricted days off, and supervisors will pretend not to notice. Even when leave has clearly been scheduled, they may still tell you to come to work. If you don't proactively speak up, you lose the day off.

The working hours are very long: seven hours on weekdays, nine hours on holidays (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), and ten hours during special events or holidays.

Meal breaks are 40 minutes on weekdays and 30 minutes on holidays.

Thirty minutes is already very short, yet you also have to help buy things for senior colleagues and take them back.

On the surface, they say overtime pay will be provided, but in practice it does not fully comply with the law.

Whether you work overtime on weekdays or holidays, it is all calculated as weekday overtime.

Moreover, if a supervisor or senior colleague asks you to stay and work, causing you to get off work late, you still cannot claim overtime.

Being one minute late results in a NT$10 deduction. In addition to clocking in with your fingerprint, you also have to take a selfie and upload it to the group chat.

There are probably five or six company group chats, and you have to report your sales results at scheduled times every day.

The seniority system is extremely serious. Newcomers are merely tools for senior colleagues to attract customers. Senior colleagues sit inside the counter spacing out and scrolling on their phones, while rookies are responsible for going outside to solicit customers (such as through lucky draws and handing out samples). Basically, you cannot sit down all day.

The counter location where you work will be rotated repeatedly.

The supervisor and senior colleagues will constantly paint a rosy picture, saying that if you work hard, you can earn NT$70,000–80,000 a month, but that is not the reality.

During the interview, they said the guaranteed monthly salary was NT$25,000, but after joining, you find out it is only NT$23,100.

The job is basically memorizing sales scripts and soliciting customers.

The customer solicitation involves deceiving customers by claiming that something is a free trial, then bringing them to the counter for hard selling. After getting customers to pay by card, they keep pushing more products until the customer buys quantities they could never finish using or reaches their credit limit. If customers want to return items, they insist that returns are not allowed; if customers are completely unwilling, they will even humiliate them.

As a result, customer complaints are very common. Supposedly, the record is three complaints in one week. Even though these sales methods are required by the company, you can still be fined three times the amount by the company.

The sales scripts involve serious exaggeration and false claims. They describe exfoliation as being able to fade age spots, insist that products without a sun protection factor are SPF 50, and even use application techniques to deceive customers into thinking there is a significant difference in absorption.

Prices are also marked arbitrarily. There is a system that teaches you how to bargain and give away gifts, deceiving customers by saying that “today is the last day of the promotion,” even though this is actually the standard sales tactic.

In short, this company constantly requires employees to deceive customers. Deception and hard selling are the culture of this company.

About half of the colleagues are from China, and dealing with them is exhausting.

However, there are many things to learn from their techniques for selling products by any means necessary.

The infighting is severe. Not to mention that spreading rumors, senior colleagues losing their temper for no reason, personal attacks, and so on are all very common.

When sales are poor, they constantly pressure newcomers. They also use various brainwashing scripts to convince employees that the company is great and that there is nothing wrong with deceiving people because consumers would be deceived anyway. Some employees are successfully brainwashed and stay.

They love making random deductions from paychecks. Uniforms are not provided until you have worked for a while, so you have to prepare your own at first. They also require you to purchase items such as calculators at your own expense. When you leave, you must have the uniform professionally cleaned, or they will deduct the cost from your pay as well.
