Pros

All of the replies posted on 2021/8/29 were positive reviews, so it is reasonable to infer that they were planted comments intended to whitewash the negative reviews and confuse the public.

Cons

There was also only one work experience post on 2021/8/29, saying that he was an assistant sales manager and that the previous sales staff were too incompetent. Surely he was staging this himself! Isn't this method rather clumsy?

No exaggeration—there really aren't any.

Cons

The manager of the physical retail channel has extremely poor character, no experience, and no sense of responsibility. All credit for the department goes to him. Whenever anything is even slightly unsatisfactory or the boss questions him in the slightest, he immediately becomes angry, shifts the blame, and either says that others misunderstood what he meant or flatly denies ever having given the instruction;

He spends all day thinking that other people’s tone is inappropriate, their choice of words is improper, or that they are speaking too loudly. He wastes time picking arguments with people everywhere, then says that he is very busy, and has virtually no patience when discussing matters. Once his emotions flare up, he says things recklessly and can completely deny anything he has said or instructed. He gives disorganized instructions, teaching whatever comes to mind. If you raise questions during the process, he becomes impatient and starts glaring sideways and rolling his eyes. When he calls someone over to give instructions, it is as though he is calling a dog, regardless of whether that person is handling his previous instruction or is on their lunch break. During the time I was at the company, I never once had a proper meal; several times, he irritated me so much that I simply threw away my entire lunchbox;

The entire physical retail channel department now consists of the manager alone. The sales staff and assistants have come and gone, unable to stay. Presumably, the only person left is the root of the problem. Instead of reflecting on why all the reviews are overwhelmingly negative, he keeps posting comments under them trying desperately to whitewash his image—purely deluding himself;

I have no prejudice against gay men and have several friends in the LGBTQ+ community myself, but after experiencing this manager’s insecurity and paranoia, I have become quite uncomfortable working with gay colleagues in the workplace;

The company itself is not a bad place to work, and the boss is quite organized and capable, but there are indeed very serious personnel problems internally. Anyone considering working there should think very carefully.

Pros

None—the company is lifeless and gloomy, with an extremely oppressive atmosphere.

Cons

1. The boss is extremely spoiled and acts like a feudal emperor, showing very little respect for people.

2. The boss spends every day looking for trouble and holding meetings. There is a daily morning meeting from 9:00 to 11:00, as well as daily reports, which must be written in great detail and revised until they satisfy him.

3. The boss is extremely nitpicky and expects you to rationalize absurd situations. If you cannot do so, he will berate you mercilessly.

4. You are expected to be an all-purpose worker: cleaning toilets, applying labels, doing odd jobs—everything. Regardless of the position you applied for, you are expected to do it all.

5. The company has an overtime culture, and no one dares to leave early. Leaving early will make people think you are too idle or have nothing to do. The boss will give you a dirty look and then keep assigning you more work. The key point is that there is no overtime pay; the average departure time is 8:00 p.m.

6. If there is even one point above that you cannot accommodate, the boss will deliberately make things difficult for you every day until you resign. After you leave, he will constantly berate you as incompetent in front of your former coworkers.

7. The boss always says that everyone can raise their opinions, pretending to be broad-minded. But once you express an opinion, he will shoot it down relentlessly and say that you are unprofessional. He will oppose things simply for the sake of opposing them, leaving everyone angry but afraid to speak up.

8. If the boss spends one dollar, he forces you to earn 100 dollars for him. If you cannot earn 100 dollars, he berates you as incompetent.

When you walk into the office, everyone has a spacious workspace, and the environment is very comfortable.

Before the interview, they even ask whether you would like water or coffee, which shows a good attitude.

Although the interview process takes a while, all the questions are about your usual work responsibilities, so it does not feel too difficult and gives you confidence about the interview result.

After the interview, they even give you a tube of effervescent tablets, which is a nice little surprise.

Also, when you first join the company

The company’s performance is indeed growing!

The boss must be making money, and basically it’s impossible for the company to go under within the next five years.

They spent a huge amount of money replacing the office with a much larger one. Instead of hiring movers, they asked employees to come in on Saturday and move everything themselves, which can increase interaction and camaraderie among employees!

Every department keeps staffing for each role extremely lean, which can bring out all of your potential at work!

There is plenty of time every day for further study, communication, and discussion.

The office is very large, with plenty of space and a quiet, spacious environment—ideal for meditating and cultivating yourself during work hours!

Colleagues all maintain a friendly social distance and do not interfere too much in one another’s private lives, making for a comfortable style of communication.

Cons

The company keeps growing, but because the boss has no children, it is estimated that the company will eventually grow to a peak and then be sold. After that, the boss can simply retire!

Employees will most likely be sold along with the company like commodities.

All kinds of things take up your time—even on make-up workdays, employees are required to use their annual leave to take the day off! There are endlessly many official errands for everyone to help with, affecting the progress of their existing work, after which management questions why efficiency is so poor!

Staffing for each role in every department is kept extremely lean, so the actual duties will absolutely not match what was discussed during your interview. Cross-departmental work will be added endlessly, with the expectation that one person can maximize their work output! If you get tired, it is definitely because you lack sufficient stress tolerance.

There are basically two hours of meetings every day. It is as if meeting time does not count toward the daily working hours, so meetings are scheduled endlessly, followed by discussions of a bunch of conclusions that lead nowhere. Then they question why you accomplished so little in a day.

The office is spacious, but there are very few employees and a high turnover rate. Everyone seems like strangers to one another, with no interaction at all—let alone communication about work. There are severe communication barriers, and the atmosphere is lifeless.

The boss often keeps bonuses on the tip of their tongue to encourage you, but during bonus discussions, can use the bonus to berate you. In reality, very few people receive bonuses. Your bonus could be reduced to zero at any time!

The boss’s classic saying is:

“Never have the mindset that even if you have no achievements, at least you have worked hard. If you think the working environment here is poor, as long as you can endure it, you will definitely thrive wherever you go!”

Pros

The entire interview process went very smoothly, but I have not yet received an offer.

Before the interview, I took a look at the reviews. Although everyone rated the company poorly, I still went to the interview.

Job seekers have the most time, and I also wanted to see what the company was like.

The job description was also very clear. It was probably influenced by the comments on Tianyancha.

Of course, the more detailed the description, the easier it is to judge right from wrong.

I cannot share anything about being hired yet, so I’ll post the interview experience first.

As soon as I entered the meeting room, the HR manager gave me one of the company’s products: effervescent tablets. They are sold at PX Mart and cost over 100 dollars per tube.

I even received a gift during the interview—this was my first time experiencing that.

Salaries are paid on the 5th, and performance bonuses are paid on the 15th. Performance reviews are conducted three times a year. A total score of 100 points equals one month’s salary as a performance bonus.

It is indeed paid in four installments.

Performance bonuses are based on attendance, duty rotations, sales performance, daily task audits, and the supervisor’s score. The allocation is very transparent.

The supervisor gave the following examples of daily task audits: whether an order was entered incorrectly, whether the wrong goods were picked, and whether the copy was proofread before being sent out.

The first few scores should be easy points; the supervisor’s score is harder to say.

At my previous company, because of the pandemic, the one month of year-end bonus that had originally been promised disappeared completely. Employees could not say anything—the boss had the final say.

According to this company’s evaluation system, there are three reviews a year, so the basic package is already three months’ worth.

The biggest reason I wanted to interview was that the company is close to home.

Cons

The interview took approximately two hours. Compared with other companies, that is considered quite long.

It was probably because they wanted to explain everything in great detail.

I am currently the assistant manager of the physical-channel sales team.

Before joining last year, I had also read quite a few negative reviews on Tianyancha.

But after coming here,

I have used my own abilities, professionalism, and expertise to help the company handle all kinds of issues, big and small, across its channels.

I have also earned the boss’s recognition and been promoted to manage all physical channels.

I have KAs and assistants below me to provide support.

At least, the work is fairly enjoyable.

Osen before last year had a very poor working culture, with a bunch of salespeople who lacked ability and made a mess of things.

They completely ruined Osen’s reputation,

yet they come here to make irresponsible remarks, smear Osen, and distort the truth.

Instead of thoroughly reflecting on their own lack of ability,

they irresponsibly attack others online and make reckless, exaggerated statements.

People like this, no matter which company they go to,

I don’t think they can establish themselves anywhere.

If you work in EC or physical-channel sales, at least you have a supervisor above you to back you up, so you do not have to face the boss directly.

The designers here are all very nice, and most of them have been at Osen for at least 3–4 years.

Osen’s current organizational system is fairly well established, and most of the unsuitable employees have already left.

The addition of new blood to HR and internal auditing has changed many of the entrenched bad practices and unhealthy workplace habits from the past.

Product sales continue to grow, and the channels are constantly expanding.

There is even no need for active business development: many individual pharmacies and small channels proactively contact us and invite us to list our products (including 7-ELEVEN and the Uni-President headquarters).

Supervisors’ ratings are reasonable, and bonus evaluations are fair.

Cons

It is a small company with a flat organizational structure.

Decisions may sometimes be changed or adjusted at short notice, in a very multinational-company-like style.

You need to be able to switch between being proactive and staying calm, and adapt to changing circumstances.

If you work in sales, you must have a clear mind, think logically, analyze the pros and cons, and be able to offer your own opinions or suggestions.

If you are not socially adept, cannot adjust your pace at any time, and insist on sticking to conventional ways,

then you are not suited to working here; you would be better off at a traditional-industry company.

This can be considered both an advantage and a disadvantage.

Also, I think the supervisor being a very nice person should probably count as a disadvantage too.

It may occasionally make you feel like slacking off at work.

The boss gives employees a great deal of room to perform. As long as you complete your work responsibly, you will usually earn the boss’s recognition, and the rewards are reflected in performance bonuses—provided that you do not shirk responsibility or take a careless attitude toward your work.

The boss occasionally assigns work that is related to, but outside of, your own area of expertise. You find ways to accomplish it, and what you learn can also add to your own skills.

The company has strong prospects and its performance is growing steadily. The only concern is being unable to keep up with the company’s pace and being eliminated; you do not have to worry about job insecurity and constantly having to change jobs.

Cons

I am only an internal staff member. At the companies I worked for previously, usually only sales personnel received performance bonuses. However, at Osen, there are not only generous performance bonuses but also travel allowances once or twice a year. When make-up workdays are scheduled, the boss also shows consideration for employees’ hard work by organizing recreational or group dining activities. With a grateful heart, I feel that the company has no shortcomings.

Pros

1. I have been here for a while, and I feel that as long as you want to advance, the boss will give you opportunities to demonstrate your abilities. Even suggestions that I proactively offer are considered and adopted regardless of position, as long as they are feasible and beneficial to improving the organization as a whole. This makes me feel that things are very fair.

2. It is quite suitable for employees who want to advance and are willing to work hard. As long as you have a good attitude toward your work, you can gain a lot. It is not suitable for people who want to take shortcuts or have a poor work attitude.

Cons

1. Sometimes I feel that the boss is very tolerant of employees. When encountering a few colleagues with poor attitudes toward work who affect others’ work, the boss is unable to discipline them, which is somewhat unfortunate. There should be more clearly defined rewards and punishments to distinguish good employees from poor ones. This would help employees with problems clearly understand when they have made mistakes and give them an opportunity for self-reflection.

It's a German brand, although I'm not sure whether that's really true. Anyway, it sounds like a foreign company.

Cons

1. If you're going to join, be mentally prepared to work overtime until you're dead. The boss will be unhappy if you leave on time. They won't say so openly, but their attitude will be obvious.

2. The company has a culture of working overtime. No one dares to leave on time, and staying an extra hour is basically the norm.

3. If they think you have too much free time, they'll keep assigning you work that is "not included in the evaluation." Then, when it comes time for the performance review, they'll say you haven't achieved anything. They completely disregard how much time those miscellaneous tasks take, so everyone becomes very good at avoiding responsibility. Whoever takes it upon themselves to handle those "thankless" tasks is simply out of luck—the boss won't thank you either.

4. You can't refuse a reassignment either. The boss will use all kinds of methods to force you to accept it. If you still refuse, they'll start making things difficult for you until you can't take it anymore and resign voluntarily.

The interviewer spent a lot of time talking with me.

Cons

The interview initially took quite a long time, which made me feel that they were very sincere. They mentioned the company’s annual plans and hoped I could provide planning suggestions based on the content, in order to assess my capabilities.

After I spent my personal time preparing and writing the plan, I never expected that once I sent it, I would receive no response at all. I couldn’t even get through by phone. I felt that my personal planning was exploited. I strongly urge other candidates to be careful!

Pros

1. They took a very serious look at your portfolio during the interview.

2. The company’s accounting is very good! Salary payments and such have never had the frequent problems seen at some lousy companies!

Cons

1. The hidden problems that tend to exist in family businesses run by a married couple.

2. There are meetings every day, so you have to report your work progress every day. The longest meeting I experienced started as soon as the boss arrived at the office in the morning and continued until noon; even during the lunch break, I still had to stay and have a meeting with the boss’s wife........ It seemed as though they had misunderstood the company’s positioning, making it seem like this was a design company that took on client projects.

3. One person may have a lot of work on hand, but there are meetings every day. You also have to produce multiple versions for the boss to choose from and make revisions according to his instructions. Overtime is simply taken for granted. I once asked my coworkers how late they worked, and they only said: “You don’t want to know. You’ll be scared when you hear.”

4. The boss’s wife is said to have graduated with a design degree from a foreign university, but her actual design skills are really so-so.

5. You cannot contradict anything the boss says; you can only keep nodding and saying “yes,” otherwise you will be severely criticized. Then, when he asks for your opinions, he only listens without adopting them, because he has already decided on his own approach; he is merely giving you the opportunity to speak in order to display his broad-mindedness.

6. The company has an extremely high employee turnover rate, so when you first join, everyone may seem very indifferent because they have also just arrived and do not know one another well. I do not know whether this is the reason, but the atmosphere at the company is unusually quiet and cold. No one dares to chat or laugh at work. This was very different from the work environments I had experienced before, where at least the pantry or lunch break had a happy and relaxed atmosphere. Here, however, everything was completely gloomy and silent. Because of the workload, most people even ordered boxed lunches; otherwise, they could not finish the progress required for the next day’s meeting.

7. The company provides laptops connected to LCD monitors. Unless they spend tens of thousands on the laptop, it will crash when running two programs at once.

8. Haoli-shan is a brand registered in Germany by Taiwanese people.

This is a company I worked for a long time ago. If I had not been curious and come here to look, I really would not have known that the reviews were so overwhelmingly negative. Ever since working here, whenever I shop for daily necessities at a store, I carefully check the manufacturer on the back and refuse to buy their products. The husband-and-wife bosses both look very exhausted, but they have never seriously reflected on the fact that the cause lies with themselves. As people say, “Use a full-length mirror to straighten your clothes and adjust your hat”; it is clear that both of them have very poor self-reflection skills. Perhaps it really is true that “change your position, change your mindset,” but anyone considering working in this environment really needs to think it through carefully. After seeing the experiences shared by others, I can only say: fortunately, I left..............

It's time to hand out year-end bonuses.

Cons

So, the great Boss Zhao has once again reached the time of year when year-end bonuses are distributed. He calls employees in for a meeting, berates them from January through December, and then finally says, “Thank you for your contributions to the company!”

The result? The year-end bonus is only NT$2,000—and it will be paid to you in six installments!

This is the first time I've seen such a benevolent boss.

Every time, the boss would say this when receiving a customer’s call asking: Why can’t I find an official German website for Holista?

The boss would answer: Because Germans focus on making products and don’t understand marketing, so there is no website!!

Conclusion: That’s bullshit. It is obviously a brand registered in Germany by the Taiwanese boss, yet they insist on making employees deceive people.

Pros

The colleagues are all very easy to get along with; the only exception is the boss, who is a big devil.

Cons

This company makes German effervescent tablets: German Doppelherz!

However, many customers say they have never seen this brand when visiting Germany, because the brand was registered in Germany by the Taiwanese owner, so it is 100% a Taiwanese brand. At most, they simply have German manufacturers produce it under contract!

I remember that during the interview, they said that we greatly respected employees' creative freedom. In reality, however, the boss is quite dictatorial: only their own ideas are considered correct. They appear to ask whether you have any better ideas, but then criticize your opinions and never adopt them.

When I was still working at this company last year, I once worked overtime until 8:30 p.m., when suddenly the entire ceiling collapsed!

At that moment, I was so frightened that I immediately packed my bag and hurried to leave. But the boss's wife stopped me and demanded that, inside this office—which might collapse a second time—I move all the computer monitors under the desks!

This shows that they only care about the company's equipment; whether employees live or die is unimportant. This was also the key reason I decided to leave.

Would you expect a company that does not respect people to offer good career achievements or benefits? Of course not!

I urge anyone considering interviewing at this company to think it through very carefully.

The relationships among colleagues are great, and there aren't really any problems. The only problem is the boss, who has very low emotional intelligence, is extremely stubborn and self-righteous, and is highly authoritarian.

Cons

1. Coming from a sales background, he often says, “Having a responsible attitude toward work is important; a sense of accomplishment and the skills you learn are more important than the salary you receive.” He does not pay overtime, and the workload keeps increasing (and it often isn't even part of your job!). He then emphasizes that you should have a sense of responsibility, and uses brainwashing rhetoric about how responsibility and a sense of accomplishment are far greater than the satisfaction of receiving a salary. Employees typically leave work between 7 and 9 p.m. In short, you work yourself to death with no overtime pay whatsoever.

2. The turnover rate is extremely high. The company has about 20 employees, and 3–4 people can leave within a month! Basically, half the company consists of newcomers! Everyone is competing to be the most inexperienced!

Moreover, the company’s poor personnel decisions are extremely serious. In particular, the managers in management positions are all parachuted in from outside and know nothing about the company’s operations, yet they hold substantial power. As a result, the same problems keep recurring, and we constantly have to clean up after these people and take the blame for them. Work efficiency is extremely poor!

Former colleagues who have all left the company were very nice.

Cons

The boss is extremely subjective and often says that we need to have an OPEN MIND at work. In practice, whenever you express a different opinion, they say that you do not respect them. Also, when proposals and promotions directed by the boss do not perform well in sales, they blame the employees and say that the employees handled things incompetently. When I was about to join, they kept saying there would be performance bonuses (but never explained the criteria for receiving them, while repeatedly saying, “Do you believe that I’ll give you a bonus?”... What kind of logic is that?). The worst part was being told directly on the same day not to come to work anymore. I heard from colleagues that a former employee also filed a complaint and went through mediation with the Labor Bureau for the same reason.

For a graphic designer interview, they discuss your portfolio very thoroughly—but that is the only advantage.

Cons

1. No overtime pay. Since it’s your job, of course you’re expected to take responsibility and do it well! So working overtime is completely normal~ ^_^

2. The cameras are pointed directly at the office workstations, so everything you do is completely visible~

3. During meetings, the boss often says it’s fine to share your own thoughts. But as soon as you give an answer they don’t want to hear, they immediately lose their temper and demand that the employee resign. So it turns out sharing your opinion isn’t actually okay! Then they badmouth former employees in front of everyone to set an example and warn us not to make mistakes?!

4. Marketing classes are held during work hours, so if you haven’t finished your work after class, you have to work overtime to finish it~ (Given the boss’s personality, who would dare say they didn’t want to attend?)

5. Just before the three-month probation period ends, they will find a reason to say you’re not suitable and terminate your employment. That’s why the employee turnover is extremely high—unless you can meet their expectations.

6. The benefits are pitifully limited. Apparently taking everyone to karaoke, ordering a cake, or getting pizza for a birthday celebration is supposed to be amazing?

7. No labor or health insurance. (I only discovered this after resigning, when I went to the labor bureau to check the salary records...)

*Graphic designers, please take note (^ω^)

Although they give people without a relevant major a chance, they calculate the pay by the “hourly wage.” Although they call it a full-time position, you’re actually just a part-time worker. Besides graphic design work, they’ll also ask you to help with various odd jobs, such as filming videos, putting on labels, and listing or delisting products on platforms, so it isn’t purely a design position. Also, don’t say that you can draw, do photography, or speak English well—they’ll really seize the opportunity to make you contribute! Being constantly told that you work slowly is normal, because they will never complain that you’re working too fast!!

The boss’s wife is responsible for the design work. She’s often very busy, so you may have to wait quite a long time for her to review your banners! Every time, she’ll ask you to make tiny adjustments, or after having you change a whole bunch of things, she’ll decide the original version was better... (ー ー;)

Then the meetings are always very long. The boss and his wife have different aesthetic preferences, so it usually takes a lo~ng time to reach a decision!

I won’t go into more detail, but this company really hurt me... After all, this was my first graphic design experience...

In the end, I just want to say that I’m so happy I escaped hell! The company I’m at now is truly so, so much better than this one!

At the time, I never complained about working overtime, because graphic design was the work I wanted to do! But they still heartlessly and uncaringly wanted me to leave... After I resigned, three or four other colleagues also left. It seems that, other than the sales staff, they dared to fire everyone else, lol.

So, if you’ve seen this company and are thinking about applying for an interview, please just ignore it! I sincerely hope no one else goes to hell again~~ unless you have a strong liver and don’t mind the low pay, lol.

1. The interviewer is the boss, and his attitude was pretty good.

2. The HR person with the surname Chen looks a bit older, but still has an enduring charm.

(I can say that—I’m the one who left a comment asking whether she was the boss’s wife, hahaha~)

Cons

“Before the interview,” they asked around about the applicant’s performance at their previous company.

It is entirely reasonable to suspect that, before the interview, the boss would call the previous company to ask about the situation.

During the interview, he casually said a few things that let me know he had asked.

Because my previous boss assumed that I had Tourette syndrome and thought it was a symptom of bipolar disorder

(I do not have any mental illness at all).

This was my previous boss’s biased prejudice and mistaken belief, which stemmed from some friction in communicating online.

(Looking back now, I think it was pretty silly—basically just an excuse to save face.)

I only later realized that Tourette syndrome is not bipolar disorder at all; they are completely different.

Back to the interview:

When the boss of this company asked me about the reason for leaving, I explained that the company’s operations and management were not suitable for staying long-term. He said, “I think you have symptoms of Tourette syndrome.”

I could tell what he was getting at. I don’t know whether he was deliberately hinting that I should say that during the interview.

I think it was because my previous company was also in e-commerce, so he had asked around about me. Feeling that my privacy had been invaded made me very uncomfortable.

Then the boss said, “Let’s just chat,” but throughout the conversation he kept trying to find out what the applicant’s待遇 had been like at the previous company and how employees were treated.

I told him the truth about what made me feel that my previous company was not suitable for staying long-term. In any case, he had already asked around—he wanted to know the truth. Actually, even if he hadn’t asked around, I would have told him.

I still shared everything with him. In any case, even if I were hired, I wouldn’t work under someone like this. I treated it as a cautionary example and told him why I had resigned, but I think he was probably shocked by what I told him.

Now that I’ve seen the reviews, including people saying that the boss guards against employees as if they were thieves, I’m not surprised at all!

If he treats applicants like this, what is there to be surprised about?

I advise anyone thinking of applying to be fully prepared for their privacy to be invaded—and it may happen as soon as after you submit your résumé, when they call your previous company!

And even if they hear a bad review from the previous company, they may still invite that person to an interview, wasting their time.

The boss once said that working overtime for up to an hour still counts as very little (of course, there is no overtime pay), because overtime is for your own learning... If the boss feels that you always leave "early," they will deliberately call a meeting just before the end of the workday.

I’ve also heard the claim that a sense of achievement is more important than salary. +1

Year-end and three-holiday bonuses are paid in installments. +1 (Do you think there will be many installments? The three-holiday bonuses amount to only NT$1,200, and they even split that into four installments to give you...)

The boss’s phone is also connected to surveillance cameras, allowing them to monitor employees’ every move and conversations at any time.

One benefit of working here... is that after you leave, no matter how many difficulties you encounter, you’ll remain calm and think, “Well, at least it’s not as bad as there.”
