Pros

The two interviewers were friendly

Cons

I interviewed for the Brand Design Specialist position, but the design department manager was very concerned about my views on "working overtime" and "designs often needing revisions.

As a designer who is already mentally and physically healthy, I don't really mind frequent revisions.

However, when I asked about overtime, I was told that the latest it would go was 10–11 p.m., and that overtime was a regular occurrence.

I couldn't help wondering whether the employees there had no personal lives. Moreover, transportation to the location was not very convenient.

I said I could only accept overtime for three months out of the year; otherwise, I would be unable to accommodate it.

Nevertheless, I could feel that they were very friendly throughout the process. They just kept circling back to the topic of "acceptance of overtime" three times.

Later, perhaps because the manager was concerned that I was not very accepting of excessive overtime, I was not invited to a second interview.

Before there was a clock-in app, I was still foolishly and diligently running around to the stores.

Meanwhile, my coworkers had all gone home to sleep, and several people were caught red-handed more than once.

Cons

Every so often, a bunch of fresh graduates in their mid-20s would suddenly parachute in, knowing nothing about the market and picking up bad habits.

When asked work-related questions, they either just said they didn't know or claimed that the Account team hadn't provided the information.

The most ridiculous thing was that they didn't even know how to take public transportation themselves, even though the company provided a transportation subsidy.

They spent all day pressuring coworkers to give them rides.

Employees who join after September do not receive performance bonuses. The work environment is very poor, and what was said during the interview is completely different from the actual situation.

Colleagues are kind.

If you don't have much ambition, it's a decent place to stay.

Cons

The retail supervisor's catchphrase is “I don't know”; they have no understanding of the department's business and get 0 points for professionalism.

The product supervisor was the culprit behind the neighboring brand falling apart; after they were transferred here, market share declined.

The marketing supervisor is emotional and takes it out on others, is prone to bias, and likes forming small groups with obedient people who enjoy flattering them.

The HR supervisor likes proposing self-congratulatory policies. After employee surveys and exit interviews, they have no qualms about disclosing employees' names to supervisors, treating employee rights and privacy as if they were worthless.

The MA program exclusively recruits troublemakers; enter with caution.

The managers’ lack of professionalism makes it fairly easy to muddle through.

Cons

The managers at both headquarters and field locations are generally very lacking in professionalism. They usually get promoted because of their long tenure or because the company is so short-staffed that it has to choose the least bad option (@recently appointed retail managers). This company is highly unrecommended for anyone seeking career growth—regardless of the department. I joined with high expectations but ended up nearly becoming part of the collective slacking-off culture. The managers lack strategic thinking, make decisions based on personal preferences, and favor employees who flatter them, making you question whether professionalism is of any use.

The biggest drawback of being a middle manager is being caught in the middle. With a flat organization and managers’ strong personal preferences, you are essentially just a troublesome intermediary for subordinates, and there is limited room to make an impact.

The company’s system is rigid and constantly regressing. It likes to use small rules that cannot keep up with the market to regulate employees, while self-congratulatorily believing that it is doing the right thing.

HR can even come up with the genius idea of having company managers chosen by popular vote.

You can see, hear, and experience many ghost stories. A place this good shouldn’t be known only to me.

Cons

Back in the days when I was “trying to make my presence felt” at the company, the most baffling and troublesome thing was having to help with campus recruitment every graduation season, persuading inexperienced students to join the company. Come to think of it, I must have plucked quite a few seedlings myself. Then I watched almost all those seedlings disappear within a few months, knowing in my heart that next year I’d have to go pull up seedlings again.

Usually, when newcomers joined, the company would emphasize its commitment to diverse development. In practice, however, not long after they were assigned to a department, I would hear that they were taken out every day to eat and drink, watch movies, and waste their lives, as if they were undergoing an alternative kind of training.

What was more bizarre over the past few years was that the seedlings increasingly seemed like disposable chopsticks: wherever there was a staffing shortage, they were shoved in, only to disappear again shortly afterward. Sometimes I really wondered whether pulling up those seedlings in the first place had been a thankless exercise.

Still, the supervisor was actually quite “friendly,” occasionally cooking and bringing food to share, which was probably one way of boosting morale. It was just a little awkward that we had to ask the company for reimbursement every time. Also, if you ask colleagues to help with purchases, remember to give them the money...... (I have to admit, some of the food really was pretty good.)

The HR staff and interview manager were both very friendly, and my impression remained very good up until the in-person interview.

Cons

The same question was asked during the initial phone screening, the first interview, the second salary-related confirmation call (they said this was just to ask a few questions), and the third phone call (interview?) ==

One question asked four times?

Maybe I’m just very inexperienced—a newcomer to the workplace. Anyway, I really have never encountered anything like this in an interview before :)

(If this is normal, I’d appreciate guidance from more experienced professionals!)

It was so bizarre; I was really shocked :)⋯⋯⋯

How could there possibly be any?

Cons

The year-end bonus is always a phone raffle, and the maintenance engineers still think it’s great. Other benefits are practically nonexistent. They’ll also pressure you at work, saying they only need you to hold out for three months and that they’ll definitely hire someone to fill the position. After three months, if you bring it up, the CFO will angrily say, “Are you keeping track of time with me now?” When I resigned, they immediately hired two people. LOL.

Terrible company

During the first interview, I was directly required to have a means of transportation 🙄

Later, I was invited to a second interview. As the interview was about to end, an interviewer directly asked about my views on Chinese-funded companies 🙄🙄? Whether I had any political leanings 🙄🙄🙄 After completing the HR department’s process, isn’t this really inappropriate 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

The results after the video résumé did not proceed in chronological order.

I also didn’t know how the review process worked; it was honestly a waste of time.

You can also stop by the big shopping center in Neihu.

Cons

Although it should count as a large company,

the manager looks young,

but it is probably the same anyway—

just someone who is good at putting on a show.

Since I was invited for a general affairs position,

I paid attention to the environment as soon as I went in,

and saw that many of the fluorescent tubes were not lit,

so I had a pretty good idea what to expect.

In any case, I did not submit my résumé myself,

and I am not particularly interested in Chinese companies.

I just came to take a look,

after all, they did used to make camera phones.

Pros

There were two design managers and an HR representative in the interview. The interview process was quite cordial, and they did not try to make things difficult. Overall, the atmosphere was very respectful, and I could ask questions directly.

The manager was also very direct about the high level of pressure. Overtime can be especially intense when launching a new product, and they would expect someone to be able to work independently. The company has many people and departments, so the scope of responsibilities is very broad and changes frequently.

You need to know how to use AE to add translated text to foreign videos (someone helps with the translation) and repair special effects (not a primary responsibility). Most of the work consists of graphic design and motion graphics production.

The manager seemed quite warm and said that the department colleagues have very good relationships with one another, giving off a big-brother-like feeling. The HR representative was also very polite, so I felt very good after the interview.

They will send you a test assignment consisting of two tasks.

The first task is graphic design: create a graphic design for a mobile phone. You need to come up with the copy yourself, but you may find your own assets.

The second task is to create a motion video using graphic assets; you need to come up with the copy yourself.

You have three days to submit it, and no reference images are provided.

It feels like you could learn a lot, and the manager and department colleagues seem quite nice.

Cons

The work is very stressful. I do not have extensive video experience, so while I was working on the second test assignment, I received a rejection email.

Also, HR sent me a test assignment with the wrong name, and later seemed to have called me at the wrong phone number.

There is a lot of overtime.

None, really none

Cons

If you're good enough at kissing up, you'll keep getting promoted and promoted

Forced overtime; getting extra credit in performance reviews for overtime is effectively the same as being penalized for not working overtime

There is indeed a half-hour of flexibility in working hours, but your performance review is docked if you don't clock in on time

Simply put, we're disposable employees

The interview ended in less than ten minutes. It was conducted by someone from mainland China—and putting that aside, this person was still extremely arrogant. The company’s compensation and the job responsibilities were not mentioned at all during the entire process. After coming in, they did not even say who they were.

Only after I asked did I find out that it was someone surnamed Liang.

From beginning to end, they only kept saying that if there were no performance results or targets were not met, they would ask you to leave.

There is a three-month probationary period: the first month is for adjustment, and if you fail to meet the target in the second month, they will ask you to leave. Then there is also a second interview.

If they are so eager to drive people away, why recruit in the first place?

Leave the company at 11 a.m.

Work at stores in various districts

Cons

1. Fill out personnel information and wait more than 40 minutes for the interview, which ends in less than 10 minutes.

2. Ask questions like those found online.

You must support the stores on holidays. Although overtime pay or compensatory leave is provided,

those who want to take compensatory leave probably will not be able to,

because you have to shoulder the sales targets.

3. There is no bonus during the probationary period.

This means that after three days of training, once you start getting into the role,

even if you work hard to boost sales in your district and achieve the targets, there is no bonus.

(I feel this wears down newcomers' enthusiasm.)

If you fail to meet the targets, they will ask you to leave.

After the probationary period, you will continue to be assessed.

There is competition based on rankings.

If you fail to meet the targets, the company will say goodbye.

A company where how you conduct yourself is considered more important than how you do your work. Basically, if you know how to flatter people and ingratiate yourself, you can stay for a long time.

During the interview, things are described in more favorable terms, and they mention a whole range of benefits, but once you actually join, they may not necessarily be provided (such as salary and overtime pay). Overall, it is still a relatively new company, so its systems and policies are not yet fully established. This is just a reference for anyone considering working there; personally, I found my experience there very unpleasant.

Mostly punctual working hours (9:00–6:00, with a flexible half-hour start time), overtime pay is provided, salary reviews and adjustments are conducted twice a year, and there is an annual bonus. It is a brand that is steadily growing.

Cons

The company is too remote; it is very inconvenient to get there without a car. The surrounding area has limited amenities. The office is quite new, but it feels slightly cramped.
