Store staff have to handle cakes, gift products, and packing bread, and they are already so busy. The ordering system is confusing: one item requires four days’ advance ordering, while another requires orders to be taken by section. Even when the customer’s payment was simply processed incorrectly by pressing the wrong button, there are still deductions here and there. It is really unclear whether employees are hired to make money or whether the company makes money by deducting it from employees. Management only knows how to ask every day whose fault it was, making everyone feel anxious at work. The promised bonuses are fake too—you still have to pass an evaluation to receive them.
There are no advantages at all
Absolutely terrible, don't go
Student workers who go there will be exploited
Previously, the salary was NT$23,000 including the perfect-attendance bonus.
If it happens for the first time in a given month, NT$3,000 is deducted from the perfect-attendance bonus, NT$1,000 is deducted for taking leave, and another NT$1,000 is deducted for not working that day—in total, NT$5,000 is deducted.
You are also charged NT$1,000 for forgetting to clock out, which means working for nothing.
They deduct money for everything. The factory manager is extremely stingy.
The management is a complete mess. The factory manager goes around yelling at people, and student workers are constantly sent back and forth to do different tasks. They are often yelled at while operating unfamiliar machines. The supervisors and other experienced workers have inconsistent standards, so student workers are often yelled at by different people and told to change the process, only to be yelled at by the next person.
It was only after resigning that I discovered the factory had intentionally withheld wages, falsified computer clock-in records, and filled out leave forms without authorization, resulting in nearly NT$7,000 missing from my pay. I had audio recordings as evidence, and the money was not fully returned until I informed them of the relevant legal regulations.
Conclusion: a heartless company.
The factory manager’s demands are very unreasonable and treats employees poorly. There is no overtime pay. If you work at another store and she thinks you are not doing well, she will transfer you from another county or city to the Chiayi factory, using coercive methods to force you to resign.
