1. Similar reserve positions actually all have standardized salaries, unless they are negotiable. So, a week before traveling from Taipei to Taichung for the interview, I asked the responsible staff member whether she could tell me your salary range. She replied that I still had to come in person to discuss it. As it turned out, the salary was indeed standardized at NT$30,000. What was there to hide? At least I wouldn’t have had to spend a whole day attending an interview without knowing whether the salary was acceptable.
2. The first time I arrived early, I wasn’t even allowed to wait inside the company. Since I was traveling from Taipei, I deliberately set off early in case there were any delays on the way. I arrived at the company 20 minutes early, but the staff member in charge actually told me to go for a walk outside and come back 20 minutes later. I was truly stunned. This was the first company I had encountered that was so impolite in receiving an interviewee. Even the small details showed the company’s carelessness. It’s just as well that I didn’t go.
3. After going to mainland China, the starting salary is approximately NT$42,000. Friends who are willing to accept overseas assignments actually have many better options!
