The employee who greeted me was polite +1
I had to fill out some questionnaire information and waited for nearly an hour and a half.
During the conversation, I was belittled and repeatedly asked whether I wanted to become a direct-selling agent (at one point, I could hardly sit still). They also kept saying they were very busy, continuously watched the surveillance cameras during the conversation, and spoke impatiently to the employees.
Toward the end of the conversation, they asked why I had originally wanted to come and whether I wanted this job. They said that people without experience needed to take classes, and that wanting the job meant taking the classes and paying tuition. If I really wanted the job, I had to show my sincerity rather than just say so, and pay a 3,000 deposit. They also took the opportunity to ask whether I wanted to do direct selling.
I once asked: “Are you very short-staffed here?”
The owner replied: “We don’t have anything like being short-staffed here. You can earn more doing direct selling than doing nails,” and similar things.
Only later did I realize that this was like recruiting interviewees while simultaneously selling them a course and tuition.
The female employee who greeted me was polite.
1. I arrived early, but the interview started later than the time I had originally scheduled (even though the store manager was already at the store).
2. During the interview, the store manager kept interrupting the interviewee while they were speaking, which was extremely rude!
3. Several times, when their employees came in to ask about something, the manager was very impatient. He was also very impolite when asking employees to get things and did not say thank you or anything like that. In my previous work experience, I have interacted with people at the manager level and even business owners who invested their own money, but none of them acted like this. It was clear that he not only disrespected interviewees but also his employees. Most of the employees are young women, and I feel sorry for them because they all seem very afraid of him. The company’s working conditions are actually fairly decent, so they could have better options.
4. What I found most frightening was that on their YouTube channel, he appears to be someone who is not very good at speaking and is also very polite to artists, but during the interview he was a completely different person! He was very talkative, yet I barely had a chance to speak because he kept interrupting me. He was truly two-faced. After the interview, I watched the YouTube videos again to make sure he looked the same—and he did. How could his attitude be so different? Does that mean that if someone is not an artist and there is no benefit or business relationship involved, they are not treated like a person? But that cannot be right either… Even if I were not hired, I could still become one of their customers. This kind of attitude is unacceptable in the service industry!
The overall environment is good
The interviewer had no sense of time. At first, I was told to wait 20 minutes, but I actually waited an hour because the interviewer had something come up unexpectedly.
The interviewer was disrespectful toward the interviewee during the interview, repeatedly talking on the phone and making the interviewee wait face-to-face. After finishing the call, an employee came in to ask about something, and the interviewer reprimanded the employee on the spot.
Good work environment, good training system, and the salary offered is decent.
During the interview, they may say that the supervisor has gone to a meeting, but then tell you that they were actually observing you through the surveillance camera, which is why they made you wait for forty minutes. After waiting for forty minutes, if the job applicant wants to leave, they will try to persuade them to stay. In the end, the interviewer will say that they continued the interview because they respect job applicants.
