1. The shift supervisor is very unreasonable. If they take a dislike to you, they can come over at any time to criticize you and find fault.
2. Whenever business performance is poor, the company reduces employees’ wages at will. This already violates the Labor Standards Act, which does not allow employees’ wages to be reduced based on the company’s operating conditions. If you are unhappy about the company cutting your pay, they tell you that you can leave at any time.
3. Even when the company makes money, it has never provided other employee benefits, and there are no bonuses for the three major holidays.
4. The shift supervisor represents upper management and has the most power.
5. The shift supervisor has considerable authority. With just one sentence, they can suppress you, tell you to work only through today, and say you do not need to come to work tomorrow. This is clearly illegal under the Labor Standards Act. They force people to sign resignation forms that same day (making it appear that you resigned voluntarily), and even threaten you by saying, “Are you trying to make this situation really ugly?” Under the Labor Standards Act, employees who have worked for more than two years must give one month’s notice before resigning. Was any notice given???
6. The shift supervisor and upper management are all on the same side. As long as they take a dislike to an internal or front-of-house employee, or the employee does not meet their expectations, they simply say “poor performance” and make the employee sign a resignation form that same day and leave immediately.
7. After you sign the resignation form, they do not even pay your wages through your bank account. They make you come to the company to collect your pay. Is this to avoid having the Bureau of Labor Insurance inspect the payroll records and attendance records???
8. In summary: This hotel does many illegal things. They coerce employees and disregard how long they have worked for the company; with one sentence, they can completely bring you down.
