I applied several years ago and got accepted but didn’t take the job. I came back out of boredom to look at the reviews, and the boss hasn’t changed at all :) So I’ll share my personal experience too.
After I submitted my résumé, I was notified by phone that, after looking at my portfolio, they thought I was capable of doing graphic design work and could offer my expected salary, so they arranged an interview.
I brought my portfolio that day, but before I had even started explaining anything, the older woman interviewing me got straight to the point: “There’s no need to look at your portfolio. How do I know you made it? Just tell me how much salary you want. Two young women have already started working here in the past two days. You won’t get a raise either. If you do graphic design work for a legislator, she might give you a red envelope; the legislator is very close to us. You won’t become a supervisor. Later, we’ll bring back a former employee to be the supervisor.”
She then started digging into my personal background, asking where my parents worked, whether I had a partner, where they lived, what kind of work they did, and other questions completely unrelated to the job.
I stated the salary we had agreed on during the phone call, but she then belittled me over it, emotionally manipulated me, questioned whether I had lied about my parents’ positions, and began slandering and disparaging my parents.
In the end, when she found out that my family had recently been thinking about adopting a dog, she even said directly, “Wouldn’t it be better to buy a purebred dog? There are many downstairs from us, and their quality is pretty good. Why adopt one?”
Looking back, I really regret not arguing back and telling her off on the spot. It was downright insulting and bullying a fresh graduate who had just entered the workforce to look for a job==
The colleagues are okay, but some managers really have problems controlling their emotions.
Absolutely outrageous. Employees are expected to bear the full cost of all inventory discrepancies, and they deduct money from employees for everything.
The only advice: get out while you can.
“The sea of suffering has no bounds; turn back and you will reach the shore.”
Applied for a graphic design and online marketing position.
The owner, finance supervisor, store managers... every unrelated department gives instructions and, after issuing them, takes no responsibility.
Instructions keep changing—orders are issued in the morning and reversed by evening—and there is no responsible point of contact to coordinate with.
Cross-department work thrown over by the stores, both online and offline, and by various departments is all the responsibility of “marketing and graphic design,” which must find a way to meet and complete it.
There are also the owner’s personal errands, such as making PPTs, editing videos, and helping a councilor make an electronic congratulatory card.
Besides being overwhelmed with miscellaneous tasks and operating in complete disorder with no systems whatsoever, there is absolutely no respect for people or professional expertise!
All of these things leave you physically and mentally exhausted, with no time to do work in your own area of expertise. The owner’s mood swings are severe and they will also periodically call you in for a review.
The pay is a little higher than elsewhere.
After three months of perfect attendance, you get NT$1,500.
There is a very large Golden Retriever and some kittens in the office.
There is fur everywhere, so people with allergies are not recommended to work here.
There are many downsides, but this is what I find hardest to accept:
As the owner of a pet store, the owner’s own dogs are almost always taken care of by the employees.
The owner only takes the dogs home at night.
The next morning, the owner brings them back and tells the employees to walk them, clean up after them, groom them—everything. If the dogs are not walked properly, the employees even get yelled at.
Yet the owner—the dogs’ actual owner—only takes them home very late at night to spend the night.
During the entire day, they are left in the office for the employees to care for.
The cats that were taken in are also cared for by the employees.
If they are not looked after properly, employees may even be scolded by the owner or other senior employees.
Because that dog is very mischievous and loves biting things at random.
While working, we also have to keep an eye on what the dog is doing from time to time.
If you are too focused on your work and fail to notice the dog biting or eating things it should not,
those senior employees will scold you.
So while working, you also have to split your attention to keep an eye on that dog.
I honestly don’t know whether I came here to work or to be a dog babysitter, haha.

If you are applying for the graphic design position in the management department,
don’t come. You will definitely regret it or won’t stay long—
unless you are extremely submissive, submissive to the point
that you can tolerate unreasonable treatment and being the boss’s punching bag.
If you are that submissive, then it may be a good fit for you.
Also, the boss is extremely subjective. She is never satisfied with the images produced, and will force a bunch of strange ideas into them, making the final image incredibly ugly—ugly beyond belief—while still thinking it looks good. As a graphic designer, your abilities will only be buried here. The boss will keep telling you to revise the work and then say that you are slow at making graphics. By the end, she often uses the initial version, which is an enormous waste of time. From time to time, you will be ordered to do things unrelated to your job. Even though she has a secretary, she treats everyone as her personal secretary. You may be specifically assigned to handle things such as stocks, packages for her family, audiovisual materials for her legislator friends, and her dog. Employees are even expected to cook her meals. On top of that, her emotional state is absolutely terrifying: you may be scolded for no reason, and she will even berate you over things that never happened. Afterward, she will occasionally try to placate you a little. The list of shortcomings really goes on and on. Anyway, if you want to work normal hours or make use of your abilities, don’t come!
P.S. If you report unreasonable treatment by the boss to senior employees or supervisors, they will only tell you to endure it and say that the boss is the highest authority and can do whatever she wants.
Nothing to say
1) Applied-for position: online marketing and graphic design, but the actual duties do not match the job description. (You are expected to handle everything.)
2) Responsible for online marketing and shipment coordination, as well as the online Facebook and LINE marketing content and offline store marketing content for eight stores.
3) Also responsible for trivial matters such as monthly account reconciliation, producing PPTs and videos for the boss’s personal matters, and periodically creating videos and image files for a councilor (the boss’s friend), among other things.
4) The online inventory is inaccurate, and the store inventory is also inaccurate, making the work twice as difficult for half the results. When problems are raised, no one provides assistance—everyone either does not know or cannot do it, so you have to overcome everything on your own.
5) In addition to the above... the most unbearable thing is that the boss constantly changes decisions, has poor emotional control, and is moody and unpredictable. You often have to handle the boss’s personal matters immediately, and the boss will sarcastically criticize your ability and ask why you are so slow. More than ten online marketing and graphic design employees left within seven months; the ones who remain are all long-term employees from other departments.
6) For the online marketing and graphic design position, the management department requires you to take full responsibility for all kinds of company events and also serve as event staff.
The colleagues are all very kind and friendly.
There are cats and dogs in the management department office.
Meal expense subsidies are provided.
Perfect attendance bonus: 1,500.
Because this is a traditional company dominated by one person, the boss is rather domineering and has poor emotional control. Employees sometimes have to handle the boss’s personal matters, and the boss makes unfounded assumptions about employees, among other things—the list goes on. Many young employees have already been driven away, leaving mostly long-term employees who have been with the company for over ten years.
The management department has to handle all kinds of company events from start to finish and also serve as the event staff. If you apply for a retail store position, you won’t have to endure the problems mentioned above.
The work is good~The benefits are also standard.
As soon as I entered the interview, I could smell a dog. It turned out that there is a large dog in the office.
Before the interview, there is a computer-based test involving a simple banner design task.
They will also review your portfolio, so you need to bring a physical copy~
During the interview, the interviewer specifically asked whether I could accept working in an office with a dog.
They mentioned that the scope of their design work is very broad~and that you need to be highly resilient, etc.
