The company feels quite new and spacious, and they notified me after the interview about whether I was hired.
They first gave me an English translation and writing test, and then a supervisor conducted the interview. They asked about my previous job, among other things. However, since I had graduated only a few years earlier, they also asked whether I had learned anything particularly valuable from my university courses. After I mentioned a few courses, the supervisor started repeatedly asking very detailed questions about the course content. Later, perhaps because he was dissatisfied with my explanation (or did not understand it because I mentioned some texts), he directly concluded, “Looking at you, it seems you didn’t study very seriously at university either.” It felt absolutely awful!!!
Later, we discussed the trade process. Since I had never personally handled an L/C process (my previous company used T/T), I directly said during the Q&A that I only knew the basic theory in this area and briefly described it. However, the interviewing supervisor again kept pressing me to explain the procedural details, asking how things should be handled under various circumstances. After I answered, he did not say whether I was right or wrong, and there was a long silence.
Finally, I asked whether there would be a second interview, and they said no—they would decide directly. When I asked about the offer, the other person laughed twice and then said, “I think we first have to see whether we want to hire you!”
Overall, it was an interview that felt extremely disrespectful and absurd. I’ve interviewed with many companies and have genuinely never encountered one with such a humiliating attitude.
English is tested during the interview, and you will be notified of the hiring decision and the timeline.
The interview is long, and there is also an English-to-Chinese translation test (?). The interview manager seems not to look at the interviewee’s résumé. The posting says that work experience is not required, but they nevertheless asked about letters of credit, ocean bills of lading, and similar topics. If you don’t have experience, please take note.
