1. The job involves recycling discarded circuit boards and operating heavy machinery in a repair factory. You have to wear protective equipment such as a mask and long-sleeved clothing to cover your body and hands.
2. The factory is stuffy, dusty, noisy, chemically odorous, and humid. You work inside a large corrugated-metal building, and the dust consists of ground-up circuit-board particles that must not be inhaled. It is essentially resource recycling and shredding recovered materials.
3. The salary offered is very low, with no allowances or benefits, so they can never hire or retain people. As a result, there are only foreign workers and a few older men working there, and occasionally you have to travel to mainland China on business.
